Personal Bio
Diego and Ruth Castro lead campus evangelism and multiplying discipleship cells across Guatemala City universities. Diego is Guatemalan-American and coaches student co-leaders in Spanish; Ruth trained in counseling before Ridgewell Campus Society sent them in 2020. Their apartment near campus is a revolving kitchen table of inductive studies, late doubts, and coffee that lasts longer than the outline.
The Mission
They form small discipleship cells among students who will open Scripture for peers and plant the next group without a foreign brand. Ridgewell partners with local churches rather than building a parallel student empire. Week by week they host inductive studies, train co-leaders, and help new believers find stable church family beyond campus seasons.
The Heart Behind the Mission
Campus work here is analytic without being cold. Students can dismantle a bad argument in ten minutes and still need someone to sit with them when family pressure hits after baptism conversations. They measure progress by co-leaders who correct their outlines and keep meeting when they travel. Rapid crowds without roots do not interest them.
